Digital Banking & Transformation

Most digital banking transformation programmes fail for the same reason: the technology gets built, but nobody redesigned the actual process underneath it.

I’ve led HNI digital onboarding transformation, CRM modernisation, and Customer 360 initiatives at IndusInd Bank and HDFC Bank — and the pattern I’ve seen repeatedly is that banks buy powerful core banking platforms like Finacle and Flexcube, and then bolt digital workflows onto processes that were designed for a paper-based, sequential world. The technology isn’t the bottleneck. The process design is.

My work in this space starts with mapping how the journey actually happens today — not how the org chart says it happens — and then redesigning it so that KYC, documentation, and compliance checks can run in parallel rather than one team waiting on another. That's the difference between digital transformation that produces a genuinely faster, better customer experience, and one that just moves the same slow process onto a screen.

Where I focus:

  • Omnichannel banking strategy that doesn’t just mean “we also have an app” — it means a customer’s journey is coherent whether they start on mobile, call the branch, or walk in
  • Core banking integration and API workflow design that connects Finacle or Flexcube to CRM and digital channels without creating five different sources of truth
  • Customer 360 initiatives that give Relationship Managers a genuinely complete view of the client, not six tabs they have to cross-reference manually
  • Digital adoption programmes — because a transformation that the frontline doesn’t actually use isn’t a transformation, it’s an unused feature
